Notice to renewing members. . . Do not use this form until March 1, 2018 or later. We plan to send you the form with all your current membership details completed. You will only have to change any data that needs updating.

You have two options when applying for membership, or renewing your membership, in the Oak Bay Lawn Bowling Club. Click on the two headings below to reveal the details of each option.  You are strongly urged to use the online form if you possibly can.

Reasons to use the online form

This is the third year that we have offered online forms for membership renewal. Last year 65% of our members renewed online. We would like to substantially increase that percentage this year.

The online form reduces the workload for the Membership Secretary, since it creates an electronic copy of your membership record.

By contrast, the information on paper forms has to be manually transferred to an electronic copy by the Membership Secretary or other volunteers.

Easy to use for a second household member, and for future renewals

The online form is “sticky”, which means it remembers your last entry. This is especially useful when submitting a second membership for the same household, where many of the fields on the form remain the same; you just change those that need changing before submitting the form again.

To make use of this stickiness feature for renewal of a second member, you do need to “reload” the form from the Welcome Banner on the home page or from the footer at the very bottom of any webpage.

The renewal form will continue to remember your details. Next year, when you renew your membership online,  all your 2017-18 details will be filled in for you on the renewal form. Just check them over and submit your 2018-19 renewal.

You can correct any errors

Within minutes of a successful submission of your online form, you will receive an e-mail with all the details of the form you just submitted. Check it over to make sure the responses you gave are exactly what you intended.

If you do not receive a copy of your completed form, check your Junk Mail folder; your service provider may have directed the automatic reply there. 

If alterations are required, reload the form from the Welcome Banner on the home page or the footer of any webpage. The fields from your original entry form will be filled in; you need only make the necessary changes and resubmit. (But you will always have to complete the verification of your e-mail address; that field is the only field that is not remembered.)

2. Pick up a paper copy of the form

During the months of March and April each year, you can pick up a paper copy of the full membership renewal form or the social membership renewal form at Anderson House. Complete it and drop it in the office mail box there, together with your cheque. If you wish you can print your own copy from the Members Only page of this website under the MEMBERSHIP tab.
