Break in to Carnarvon House last night

Last night, November 12, at approximately 11 p.m. neighbours of our club noticed flashlights inside Carnarvon House. They called the police who attended and apprehended a female who was in the park. A male was with her but ran away. It will make it difficult if they can’t tie the woman as being in Carnarvon House. The individual(s) forced one of the windows open in the kitchen area. They stole the iPad and broke into the bar fridge making off with around $200 mostly in loonies and toonies. The break-in has been reported on CFAX and might be on the local TV news tonight.

A Saanich forensic officer attended the centre this morning to take pictures and to see if there might be any evidence left behind. They found no fingerprints and assumed the person or persons wore gloves.

Barry Hersh and David Anderson are making arrangements to order a new window and to install a sheet of plywood to secure the building.

We assume the break-in was done by the same people who broke in back in April, but at this point we can’t say that as a fact. This is very unfortunate, and I write just so all members have the facts as we know them at this point. As we receive additional information, I will provide you with that information and will raise the matter at our AGM.
