New Years Day Bowling
We could hardly call it “The Polar Day Bowl” this year, as a group of 36 club members gathered for the annual tradition of bringing in the New Year, and the start of a new decade, with a game of outdoor bowls on New Year’s Day 2020.
I’m sure we are the envy of the rest of Canada, with sunshine, blue skies, some wind, but the temperature a balmy 12C. The greens were definitely “green” this year, and bowlers had no problem completing six ends without feeling like they were starting to suffer from frostbite.
Following the game, everyone gathered in Carnarvon House to enjoy some goodies and Holiday cheer.
Short mat leagues get under way next week, but the outdoor season draws near – only 4 months till Opening Day!
