Gopala Gowda participated in the indoor singles bowling competition at the Pacific Indoor Bowls Club in Vancouver – April 26-28. Gopal finished 4th in his group and 18th overall. 24 bowlers were divided into 4 groups of 6. Each player played 5 games in the round-robin on Friday and Saturday with the top two finishers from each group advancing into the playoffs on Sunday. Not surprisingly, the top three tournament placements went to the members of Pacific Indoor Bowls Club.

The round-robin format was 2 sets of 7 ends with a 3-end tie breaker. Considering his first appearance in a provincial competition and never having bowled at the Pacific Indoor surface, Gopal competed well pushing 3 games into tie-breakers, winning one. Overall he is pleased with the performance and happy to have gained experience at the provincial level.
