Well done Jerome Foenander, our Bronze medallist for the BSI Novice Men’s Singles!
The Novice Men’s Singles Tournament was played over the past weekend at Sidney Lawn Bowling Club. Ten novices were separated into two pools, and Jerome reached the Bronze Medal segment. There were some nail-biting ends, but Jerome prevailed. Kory and Doug took turns to be the coach for Saturday, and Mary on Sunday. Our coaches were very proud of Jerome’s performance.
Burnside’s novice (Dave Emerson) won Gold, and Silver went to Vic West (John Reese).
The weekend had been rather chilly, but it was heart-warming to see several of our club members coming out to support our club’s novice. Thank you to Kory, Doug, Judy, Lauren, Alex, Ian McMorran, Rick, David Smyth and mostly importantly, Sally, Jerome’s wife. Sally was inspired and will take up lawn bowling next year. We look forward to having you, Sally!
Thank you also to all who came out to practice with Jerome and prepping him for this tournament. It’s great camaraderie. Onward to great bowling!
