Dear Members and Friends,

Thank you all for coming out to the Oak Bay Lawn Bowling Club for our first get-together of the year on January 1, 2026. It was fantastic to see such a lively turnout with approximately 60 people enjoying a variety of activities including outdoor lawn bowling, indoor short mat, and croquet. It was clear that fun was had by everyone, and it was heartwarming to witness the camaraderie and friendly competition.

 

After the games, it was delightful to see everyone gather at Carnarvon House to warm up, indulge in some snacks, and enjoy a warm drink or a beverage from the bar. The atmosphere was filled with laughter and joy, making it a perfect start to the year.

 

Congratulations to the winners of our 50-50 draw: Brent Jansen, David Anderson, and Brent Merchant! Your participation made the event even more exciting.

 

I would like to extend a special thank you to Rick Cohen for his invaluable assistance in organizing his first tournament. Additionally, my heartfelt appreciation goes out to Marion, Lauren, Brent Merchant, David Anderson, Gary Anderson, and everyone else who helped with the setup before the tournament and the cleanup afterward. Your hard work and dedication are truly appreciated.

 

As we look ahead, let’s hope for a very happy, healthy, and enjoyable 2026. Wishing you and your families all the very best from the Oak Bay Lawn Bowling Club.
