The BSI Greenskeepers event, the last of Mixed Triples Open Tournament, took place at Juan de Fuca LBC on Saturday, August 29.
This tournament typically has a strong turnout, and this year there were 28 teams in total. Three teams represented Oak Bay: Mary Forster with Keith Newhouse and Constantin Bottea from the Victoria LBC; Brent Merchant with Jean Morrison and Jack Showers; and Brent Jansen with Ray Dilba and Karen Evans.
Despite the strong winds in the afternoon, the weather was very pleasant for lawn bowling. Each team played three 14-end games, with Mary Forster and her partners finishing in third place.
The organization by Juan de Fuca LBC was commendable, as they managed the tournament efficiently, even arranging the prize money in exact amounts for each winning team member, no counting needed by the skip. Well done!
