This tournament was framed by perfect weather and 55 enthusiastic participants playing Croquet or Lawn Bowling, with a delightful burger luncheon in the middle. This was all made possible by the excellent management of Brent Merchant with his assistant Garry Anderson and the leadership of Lauren Charlton in the kitchen .
After the games, everyone retired to Carnarvon House to enjoy cake, refreshing beverages and prizes galore. The winners for Lawn Bowling were as follows: first place went to Kory Swain, Helen Kempster and Lisa Simonek. In second place were Marcia Thorneycroft, Barry Hersh, Lori Anderson, Maureen Tremblay, and Paul T. The third place winners were Rod Armitage, Angela Adamek and Darlene Lee
The winners for croquet were as follows: first place went to Susan Lum, second place to Mitch Fumalle, and in third place was Jack Showers,
A wonderful crew of helpers made the day flow smoothly so everyone could enjoy the festivities. The set up for Lawn Bowling was handled by Doug Francis and Judy Black. Rod Armitage managed the signing table. The set up for croquet was managed by John Dolman and Jack Showers. The kitchen volunteers were Jim Howard, Sheila McCall, Sandy Armitage, Lauren Charlton, Brent Merchant, Garry Anderson, Jan Price, Angela Adamek, and Judy Black.
While celebrating at Burgers and Bowls, we discovered that several people had birthdays in the last two weeks. Congratulations to: Lorne Cowley, Brian Sandercock, Mary Forster, Kory Swain, and Barry Hersh… please see the last photo below.
