For members that were busy with the Oak Bay Garagellenium on Saturday July 25th you missed a great day of bowling and croquet. Close to 60 members attended the event. Bowlers played two 10 end games of triples and croquet players had a host of games with rotating teams of pairs. Chris and Kory organized the bowling teams and games/rink schedules, Jan collected the registration fees and entered the score card results, Doug and Brent set up the rinks, numerous croquet members set up the hoops, Ian rolled the East green, Garry and Brent provided BBQ services, Jim C & Marian took on bar duties, kitchen duties were covered by Maureen, Sandy, Jimmy, Norma, Lauren, Judy B. and Gloria was our trusted photographer. A spider was held over the lunch period and history was made. It was the first spider where the “Jack” was not touched by a single bowl. The second historical event was that Tony won both the spider and the 50/50 winning the princely sum of $190 – that lucky rascal!

I’ve listed a host of people who helped out today and I apologize if I have missed anyone. Having people step up and volunteer sure makes days like this so successful and we all thank them for their help.
With the gift cards from the Penny Farthing and the Oak Bay Pharmasave along with money from the entry fees, the spider and the 50/50 members won a total of $910.
