On Wednesday, August 6, 19 members of our Oak Bay Lawn Bowling Club made their way out to the Central Saanich club for a day of play and socializing. The weather forecast called for rain, but fortunately the rain was felt early in the morning and the skies opened up as the day proceeded. It ended up being a perfect day to bowl. We played three six end games with breaks in between for coffee and lunch. A lovely assortment of goodies were provided. A big thank you to Gillian Lightbody for organizing the event and to all the Central Saanich members for volunteering in the kitchen and set up.
Thank you to Chris Slade for putting the sign up and poster on the website and to Doug Francis for organizing the rides and putting out reminder emails.
It’s always fun to play at another club and meet other bowlers in the area.
