What an amazing day for bowling! On Thursday, August 6th, 17 members of the Central Saanich Lawn Bowling Club along with over 40 of our own members participated in the day of bowling, eating and socializing. The weather was fantastic, the participants were enthusiastic and the volunteers made the day run smoothly.
The day started with a group photo and comments from the event managers. We played two 6 end games and then broke for a barbecue lunch. Following lunch we had a spider, another 6 end games and concluded with a social gathering and prizes.
Congratulations to Marcia Thorneycroft for winning the spider.
Congratulations to all the draw prize winners and hoping that your million dollar dreams come true.
It was so great to see so many players out on the green enjoying the game and meeting new people.
It takes many people to run an event like this and we are so lucky that we have such great volunteers.

-To the AMAZING kitchen volunteers who cut up fruit, put out snacks, made coffee/tea and cold drinks. To the members who organized the lunch, put out and served the food and cleaned up.

-the bartenders for keeping the drinks coming.
-Kory Swain for setting up the online registration.
-Gloria Brown for taking the pictures, making them look amazing and posting them on the website.
-Barry Hersh for organizing the teams/rinks, finding spares, organizing and purchasing the lottery tickets. Truly, it was because of the care Barry put into the organization that the day run so smoothly.

– Tony Tucker from the Oak Bay Pharmasave and Matt McNeil of the Penny Farthing, who each once again, donated $50 dollars in gift certificates to their businesses. Our club is most appreciative of their generosity.
