2024-05-09 This page updated with information about the new Competitive Leagues
Our club runs a men’s pairs league and several mixed, round-robin Competitive Leagues throughout most of the summer season.
The men compete every Tuesday morning for the Carnarvon Cup. (There is a counterpart women-only weekly fixture every Friday morning.)
There are two mixed Competitive League games on Monday mornings and another on Wednesday evenings.
Carnarvon Cup (Men)
This friendly season-long pairs competition is open to all men bowlers who are full members.
There is no entry fee for the league.
Novices are most welcome to join. Because the groupings are at random, they can often do quite well in the league just by showing up every week!
There is no obligation to attend each week. Consult the online calendar for any variations in the weekly schedule.
Skips are paired with non-skips at random each week, but a record is kept of each individual’s weekly performance to determine his rank in the league table.
The games are played every Tuesday morning. Tags in at 9:30 a.m.
The first game of 2024 will be played Tuesday, May 7, then weekly thereafter until late August or early September.
For details see Carnarvon Cup poster. You can check the current season’s latest results at any time.

Competitive Leagues (Mixed)
There are three weekly, mixed competitive leagues in 2024, two on Monday mornings and one on Wednesday evenings.
You enroll in the leagues via the online calendar, choosing to play on Mondays or Wednesdays.
The organizers assign the players to leagues, with either 8 or 12 players in each league. Once you are assigned to a league you are committed to play in that league for seven consecutive weeks. Players who cannot play on a given league-day have to find a substitute.
The league is set up to be a round-robin where in each player partners with, and plays against, every other player over the course of the seven weeks. Twelve-player leagues are set up as round-robins over 11 weeks, but terminate the league after seven weeks.
Once the seven-week league is finished, a new round of competitive leagues commences, with players enrolling via the online calendar.
For details see Competitive Leagues poster. You can check the current season’s latest results at any time.
