OUR CLUB NEEDS YOUR HELP STARTING MONDAY OCTOBER 5 AT 9:30am.

On Monday October 5 both greens will be closed for coring and sanding. A note will be sent to members when the greens reopen. During this time a number of designated members will start work on replacing and fixing the plinths and backboards on the west green.

We need help from other members for a host of other tasks. Too often there is a small number of members who seem to volunteer to help out with the tasks that arise during the year.

There are a host of tasks and if members could come out for an hour or so these tasks can be done quickly. It doesn’t take long to wash a few windows, weed one of the 8 ditches, take down a few tables, or vacuum in Anderson or Carnarvon Houses as just a few examples. The following list is some of the tasks we hope to have completed during the week of October 5:

• Kitchen cleanup
• Clean windows, sills, dust etc
• Tables in Carnarvon moved to storage area.
• Set up for winter activities
• Does freezer need defrosting
• Vacuum
• Set up short mats
• Clean up Anderson – vacuum dust wash windows and sills
• Weed the ditches
• Redo blackboard paint on scoreboards I have that paint
• Buy and put shrink wrap on rings holding the scoreboard plates – don’t know where we buy that
• Store our new umbrellas
• Clean the BBQ shed
• Might need a Costco member to refill the BBQ tanks (yes the club will reimburse you for the cost of the fill-up. Just provide the receipt)
• Clean Harnam House
• And the list goes on

If you could help just for an hour or two it takes the load off those members who consistently address the various issues that keep our club in such good shape and allowing all of us to enjoy the full range of activities our club offers throughout the year.
