The annual Family Appreciation event took place Friday afternoon on July 12. As Gloria’s pictures show over 60 croquet and bowlers participated. This yearly event is to thank and recognize those members who have joined our club under our introductory fee schedule. Pizza was provided to all participants with no charge to our new members while established members paid $5 each. This event was made possible by Tony Tucker of the Oak Bay Parmasave. Tony donated $600 to CHAMPs and $300 for our pizza night for new members plus ten $25 gift cards. It’s wonderful to have local businesses support our club in this manner. Tony has done this over the last three years and we greatly appreciate his generosity. New friendships were developed between existing and new members by playing and sharing supper with one another and that’s a great outcome.
