An exciting women’s tournament played out on Friday, August 14 as 10 teams battled for supremacy and the coveted Maddalon Tray Trophy. In one end an almost “perfect score” of 7 ousted the front runner to create a minor upset. Games were close and with 5 teams out of 10 tied for first place with 6 points apiece prize winners had to be decided using “for and against” scoring. Those walking away with the money were:

1st place – Jean Morrison and Deb Austin

2nd place – Judy Black and Ann Connelly

3rd place – Cathy Denny and Karin Buss.

Chris Slade did an excellent job as “techie”, kitchen duties were
handled expertly by Susan Buss, Judy Black and Lauren Charlton and Gloria was there to document all the triumphs. General support in many areas was given to me by Linda Cowie. The day was warm but not too hot and a great time was had by all.
