Father’s Day got off to a great start with the Miller Cup underway at 9:45 a.m. plus two more games during the day, wrapping up with fellowship, food and a beverage or two! Lots of good bowling from the 10 teams in the tournament and nice to see some newer bowlers getting their lawn bowling tournament experience underway.
In the end, the team of Chris Slade, Brian Sandercock and Louise de Montigny took home the first place trophy and winnings of $50 each. In second place Ian Capon, Lauren Charlton and Alan and Joan Hall were the runners up and received winnings of $30 apiece. In third place Rod Armitage, Robert Game and Gordie Hawkins hung on to finish third with winnings of $20 each.
All in all, a beautiful sunny day and hopefully a good time was had by all. A number of spectators came to watch the bowling and enjoyed watching from our patio deck.
