All club members are invited to bowl and to celebrate on New Year’s Day 2023.
Our club does not field national and provincial champions with mere summertime training. We train year-round.
The lawn bowling training camp will be held under the distinguished direction of:
- Games Chair and 2019 Canadian National Pairs Champion, Karen Evans and
- Umpire, Hon. Colonel Harnam Grewal, Royal Hong Kong Regiment (Retd.).
You will receive valuable tips on how to bowl on waterlogged ground — and maybe even frozen ground.
Turn up, warmly dressed, ready to bowl at 1:00 p.m. President Merchant exempts himself from the “dress warmly” rule. (You are invited to challenge him in the “most unsuitably dressed” competition.)
If you do well for your impromptu team – and even if you don’t – there will be other club members waiting in the club house after the game to reward you with coffee and goodies (?) They will ask you for $2, though. And the bar will be open.
