On Saturday, May 6, 2017 another outdoor season got under way. Welcoming remarks were made by President Al Wood, followed by words of greeting from Oak Bay Mayor Nils Jensen. We were most fortunate to also have in attendance Councillors Hazel Braithwaite, Tom Croft, Michelle Kirby, and Tara Ney, who took time from their busy schedules to help us kick off a new season.

The Opening Day was a success because of the many hours of planning and work that took place in the months leading up to this day. Numerous members contributed their time and skill to ensure our club would be ready for another busy season of enjoyment on the greens and in our clubhouses.

Joy and frustration lie ahead. Not every bowl will go where intended, nor every day will the sun shine. However, today a large group of bowling enthusiasts has come together to create more happy memories as members of the Oak Bay Lawn Bowling Club (the friendly club).
