At the start of each bowling season one of the Bowls South island District clubs hosts the Presidents Cup. Each of the 11 BSI clubs are invited and this year the event was held at the Lake Hill LBC with 10 clubs participating. Unfortunately the event took place on May 11 which was the same day as our opening day. Ron Harmer, Susi and Brent Merchant represented our club but had to miss the festivities at our club. The tournament was two 12 end games and the volunteers at Lake Hill did a marvelous job hosting the event. All participants were provided a wonderful lunch prepared by the members of the club. In the end three teams were tied after winning both of their games. The point differential was used to break the ties resulting
First Place went to the Canadian Pacific team comprised of Gordon Folka, Verlie Martin and Lorne Carnes.
Oak Bay captured second place with Brent Merchant, Ron Harmer and Susi Merchant
Third place went to Burnside represented by Dan Bitterlich, Katherine Krystalowich and Bunny Bentex
