Approximately 20 members came out on Thursday April 10 to help with our major clean up. One short mat was returned to Carnarvon House while one remained in Anderson for our Open Houses later this month. For Anderson House the rug was vacuumed, the draw masters table was returned as was the bowls polisher. The windows were washed and the chairs were returned. For Carnarvon House the long tables were setup with the appropriate covers and chairs were placed for most of the tables. Around 40 chairs were left in the back for use when we have our AGM and after that they will be placed with the tables. The kitchen area was given a good cleaning and all the windows were washed. The Christmas decorations had been placed in containers and they have been stored in the upper area of Carnarvon. For the outside our gardners were busy looking after all the flower beds, others washed all the exterior windows, soil and grass seed was placed around the base of the new sun shelters, soil was also placed in Carnarvon park where vehicle treads had left marks on the grass, the area near the major equipment building was cleared of all the excess dirt from the sun shade project, all the eaves were cleaned of leaves and debris and the Games equipment room, the BBQ shed and the old BBQ shed were all cleaned and organized. You might have gone to sleep reading all of this but it’s important to know how much work goes into keeping our areas in such good condition. The work party was treated to pizza after all their work was completed. On behalf of all our members we thank all those that donated their time and energy.
