Monterey Middle School was the first school to visit us at the start of our bowling season.
We couldn’t have asked for a better day to host 22 students. It was a warm and sunny afternoon, a perfect day for bowling.
After a 10-minute introduction to the game, the students played in games of Pairs, assisted by our members. The students quickly mastered the delivery of bowls, and focused on learning the line and weight of bowling to the jack.
At the end of the session, all the students were treated to ice-cream bars, a special treat from our member, Karen Evans, who retired from teaching at this school two years ago.
Several students had expressed interest in coming back to our club, and we hope to see them again on a Wednesday or Friday evening before the end of the school year.
A big thank you to all the coaches and assistants who helped in making this school visit a fun day. Once again, our community-minded members shine in their dedication to promoting this great sport.
