A total of 9 members (3 on Monday and 6 on Tuesday) volunteered to place dirt under and around the new benches. This sounds pretty easy but that was not the case. The dirt we had placed between Carnarvon House and the lawn equipment shed was wet and caused it to form lumps. We used a cement mixer lent to us by Ron H to mix the lumpy dirt, sand and fertilizer. Even so we still had to break down the lumps before distributing the mixture near the new benches. This was particularly difficult on Monday but Lorne brought his cultivator in on Tuesday which was an immense help in breaking down the lumps of dirt. The final step was to spread grass seed on the area. Please avoid walking on the area between the East and West green until our grass seed takes hold. There are still a few areas where the distance from the ground to the start of the seats is a touch long but we will be working on that as time moves on.
