Hello All,
I am pleased to announce that the club will be reopening shortly (tentatively Monday June 15th). This opening is dependent on us receiving our certificate of insurance by then. If we have not received it by then we will have to postpone the opening date, but I am confident that we will see it by then.
The COVID-19 Safety Plan that we have prepared has been approved by the Executive and is in concert with the BowlsBC guidelines and the Provincial Health Officer’s directions. I have attached this plan for all to read and understand before you bowl. The following points should be noted for all bowlers:
- Bowlers must sign and bring with them three documents the first time they bowl this year. They are the Waiver, the Acknowledgement Form, and the Single Day Symptom Screening form. If you do not have these forms filled out and ready to hand to the monitor you will not be allowed entrance. These are the only documents you will need and summer bowling is open to all Full, Duplicate, Associate, and Junior members. These forms are attached. The first 2 forms will only be required once, while the Single Day Symptom Screening form will be required every day you bowl. If you choose not to sign these documents or you have symptoms of Covid-19, you will not be allowed entrance.
- You must register online for a session before you can bowl. The online process will be communicated to you this week. To start with for the first 2 weeks, we are going to have bowling on Monday at 10am, Tuesday at 1pm, Wednesday at 10am and 630pm, Thursday at 1pm, Friday at 10pm and 630pm, Saturday at 1pm and Sunday at 10am.
- We will be limiting the number of rinks on each green to 4. Four persons per rink max, for a total of 32 bowlers. Remember, you have to register in order to bowl, no drop-ins.
- We will have 2 monitors present for each session to start with to ensure all the rules are followed and cannot bowl for the session they monitor. These monitors will be volunteers from the club and will be recruited this week. The duties of the monitors will be published separately in the next day or so, and we anticipate a training session for these folks this coming weekend some time TBD. Remember if we do no get enough monitor volunteers to man the bowling sessions, the sessions will not occur. It is our expectation that if you bowl in one of the sessions, you should monitor in another if you are able.
- Take your bowls home if you can. There will be limited access to the lockers and the washroom in Anderson House will be open. Carnarvon House will be closed.
These are just some of the highlights. Please take the time to read the guidelines and remember that as we move towards Phase 2 and 3, we hopefully can relax some of these restraints. The will be more info coming this week.
By the way, if you have not paid your dues, please do so now. This will be the last email sent to those who have not yet renewed.
Thanks, and look forward to seeing you on the greens.
