Four Oak Bay teams participated in the BSI Galleon Mixed Pairs event last weekend, May 21-22, at Juan de Fuca LBC.
This tournament is the official opening of the new bowling season and there were 28 teams from Bowls South Island Clubs. The conditions on Sunday were challenging with strong and persistent wind.
The rankings among the top three 5-game winners was decided by shot-differentials.
The trophy and first place went to Shaen McRae & Anita Wah of Lake Hill Lawn Bowling Club.
Finishing in second place were Bobbi Jean Charlton & Mitch O’Brien (5 wins). The third place finishers were Donna Blackstock & Gopal Gowda (5 wins).
Brent Merchant &Lee Millar secured fifth spot (4 wins), while Brent Jansen & Karen Evans finished ninth (3 wins).
