This is a belated news report for the BSI Joan Price Quaddie, which took place July 19 at the Juan de Fuca club.
Our players provided no detail on their victory, other than that seven Oak Bay players were among the top two four-person teams.
However, we lifted a news report from the Juan de Fuca LBC website:
“14 teams entered the tournament and as per tradition our gentlemen players prepared and served the Ladies a delicious lunch. Jack Robertson, Rob McArthur, and Bill Leach served the Ladies cold cuts & cheese with buns, salads and to finish off their meal, ice cream and strawberries for dessert. Thank you once again gentlemen. A 50/50 draw was organized by John Turnbull and the winner was Rob McArthur!! And not one of the 56 ladies who attended! ”
The winning team was: Tanis Ranger, Karen Heagle, Kathy Collister (Gordon Head LBC) and Lee Millar.
Runner-up team was all Oak Bay: Karen Evans, Mary Magill, Donna Blackstock and Diane McMorran.
