Ukraine Relief

[su_heading size=”24″ margin=”10″ ]Club members donate generously to Ukraine relief[/su_heading] 

During the Marion Woiblet Memorial Tournament July 30, in keeping with Marion’s donation, we wanted to carry her generosity forward by having a donation box available to help assist the Ukrainian people who are being so badly impacted by the invasion taking place in their country.

Constantin Botea drove this initiative that raised the sum of $2,275 for Ukrainian relief.

On Sunday July 31, Constantin, Robert Game and Chris Slade took our club donation to the St. Nicholas Ukrainian Church to present it to church officials including Robert Herchak, an elder in the church. and Father Yuriy Vyshnevskyy. Robert said that our donation would be used to contribute towards the cost of a 14-unit building that the church had leased from the Kiwanis in Victoria to house Ukrainian refugees in our city.

Tax receipts will be issued to individuals for their donations.
