The Champ of Champs tournament is played at the Juan De Fuca Recreation Centre from Thursday 3rd through 6th of September. The entrants are the Novice Mens and Womens Champions from the regional clubs and the Mens Champions from the clubs. It is an arduous round robin event with games played on Thursday and Friday evenings with 3 games both Saturday and Sunday.
From the Oak Bay Bowling Club there were four entrants, three Novice bowlers, David Anderson, Bryan Valdal, Melissa Doyle with Harnam Grewal as club singles champion. The results are not totally clear at this point. However we do know that Bryan placed 3rd, David was likely 5th, Melissa placed 4th.
Everybody played well, the competition was fierce and the Mens Novice Champion was a fifteen year old, Aidan who I believe was from Gordon Head Bowling Club. He will be a formidable competitor very shortly!
