The Thursday Special Draw on May 16 was extra special. That’s because Carlton House of Oak Bay provided over 60 attendees with a delicious complimentary lunch, and donated two bottles of wine for use as prizes. Additionally, Shelley de Hoog, Carlton House Manager of Community Relations, made a very generous donation to the club which was gratefully accepted by Club President Brent Merchant.

Despite a weather forecast calling for possible showers, we remained dry and completed the normal 2 x eight end games in fine shape. Today’s draw was won by the team of John Dolman and Ron Harmer.

The Thursday draw is called special for good reason. It has long been very well attended and is well managed by Marg & Jeff Machan who have built on the excellent work done by their predecessors. Finally, the format is just plain fun. A day on the green bowling with friends beats most other things we could have done on this day.
