Our own Bobbi-Jean Charlton competed in a pool of 23 women at the Canadian Championships (Singles), held at the Heritage Greens Lawn Bowling Club in Kitchener, Ontario, August 26-30. Bobbi-Jean not only made it into the playoff round but finished taking the silver medal.
Members who often drop by our club will have seen Bobbi-Jean practicing alone for hours on end in preparation for this major competition. It’s clear that despite her natural skills, a key element to success is the dedication and willingness to work hard to achieve her goals.
Well done Bobbi-Jean. Your success is our success as your achievement identifies Oak Bay as a club that produces some of the best lawn bowlers in the nation.
