Brent Jansen will be off to China next month to participate in two international competitions. These are the Tiger Bowls World Invitation in Hong Kong, March 12-13, and the China Open Championship in Shenzhen, March 14-17.
Brent will play lead on a fours team at both competitions. The team will comprise Davie Mathie, skip (Juan de Fuca LBC), Ivo Van Bastelaere, third (Sidney LBC), Ken Wright, second (White Rock LBC), and Brent Jansen, lead (Oak Bay/Juan de Fuca LBC). The team will arrive in Hong Kong on March 7 in order to become familiar with the greens and other local conditions.
Brent began bowling at Oak Bay in 2014. He won the Club Novice Singles Championship that year and went on to win the Bowls South Island Novice Champ of Champs competition.
A talented bowler with unbounded enthusiasm for the sport, Brent will make a fine ambassador of our country. We wish him and his team mates well.
Bonne chance!
