Although no eligible novice women were available from Oak Bay to compete in the BSI Novice Women’s Singles Tournament at Juan de Fuca LBC, there was plenty of action at Burnside LBC on the Men’s side. Oak Bay was admirably represented by Ed Lounsbury (OBLBC Novice Champ) and Mitch O’Brien (OBLBC Novice runner-up). The tournament included two players each from Gordon Head, Oak Bay, and Victoria LBC’s, along with one each from Burnside, Canadian Pacific, Cowichan, Juan de Fuca, Lake Hill and Victoria West LBC’s.

After two days of regulation play both Ed and Mitch finished with 4 wins and 1 loss.  Because of the shots differential only Ed made it into the playoffs where he played for the third and fourth place positions. He prevailed taking third place in the tournament. Well done Ed and Mitch for finishing the tournament with an impressive combined total of 9 wins and only 2 losses.
