The Burgers & Bowls was played on Sunday, July 14 under ideal weather conditions. The tournament was ably managed by Rod Armitage, assisted by his wife Sandy, as well as a large group of volunteers who provided every kind of support service, all contributing to a highly successful event.
The tournament was noteworthy for being the first major event held at the club since approval of our liquor licence application to allow for the enjoyment of a drink on the Anderson House deck. As can be seen in the photos below, members were quick to take advantage of this opportunity to view play while enjoying a glass of beer or wine on our new deck.
Three “chefs” – Jack Coupe, Lorne Cowley and Gerry McIntyre – ensured that the beef and veggie burgers were cooked to perfection. Bartender Ian McMorran kept the libations flowing. Lorraine Neumair assisted in the scoring. Many other volunteers contributed in various areas and their efforts are all much appreciated.
Watch the calendar for upcoming tournaments and visits so you won’t miss out on any of the remaining fun this season.
