Canada Day 2019 was celebrated by 80+ bowlers and many volunteers in a very ‘Canadian’ way, by fundraising for the War Amps Child Amputee (CHAMP) Program. The day saw the traditional match between the Red and Blue teams complete with a Picnic lunch provided during the mid day break.
Red and Blue team bowlers wrestled head to head in four games of two bowl triples with the Red Team avenging last year’s defeat by coming out on top.
The real winners of the day were all people who made the day possible and the fundraising such a success. The organizers, volunteers, people that donated prizes, and the many people that worked so hard to provide the picnic lunch, really made for a great day and a fun way to celebrate Canada day.
Early totals for Fundraising have this year’s contribution come in well over last years totals! Great Job Everyone!
Updated July 9 with details of the record-breaking $2,000 final total of funds raised for CHAMP.
