The final day ended up with a four-way tie for third place. Final places were determined by a “one-bowl roll off,” with the third and fourth position being decided by closest to the jack. Al and I felt this would be the fairest method for the play off. We set the mat and the jack and position of play arrived at by random draw.
After completion of this year’s event, I continue to believe and support that “straight” pairs provides a better format for this draw.
After six years of Carnarvon Cup, I have decided to step down and am pleased to advise you that Andrew Harley has agreed to take over the men’s league for next year.
