Many thanks to Donna Blackstock for organizing a very successful short mat cutthroat tournament weekend of December 12/13 There were six teams of three players each playing three games. One Saturday morning and one on both Sunday morning and Sunday afternoon. The games were ten ends of cutthroat bowling, each member of each games gathering points 3,2,1 for their own team. Sounds complicated, but it wasn’t!
The six teams were: The Frosty Snowflakes, The Very Merry Elves, The Jolly Santas, Bingle Jells, Stormin’ Snowmen and the Rockin’ Reindeer.
Shortmat cutthroat the winner!! The games were outstanding and several games were decided in the last end. The Very Merry Elves took the top spot! They had 25 points and never had a single point in any game. Congratulations to Svend Klausen, Marilyn Turpin and David Anderson. The Rockin’ Reindeer, with 21 points took second place. Well done to Louise Mason, Andrew Harley and Norma Alison. In a very tight race, for third place, the Stormin’ Snowmen with 17.5 points earned the third place payout. Close behind in fourth spot, The Jolly Santas with Pat Thomas, Joan Firkins and Brent Jensen. Thanks to Rod Armitage for subbing for the Snowmen in one round and doing an admirable job!
