Hi Everybody,
With an abundance of caution I write to advise that effective Wednesday March 18 the Oak Bay Lawn Bowling Club will cease all indoor activities. The Executive feels that with the age of our members and the risk involved with the COVID 19 virus we should minimize any chance of members being impacted and then transferring this on to their children or grandchildren. We realize this will cause some problems for those that participate in short mat, bridge, darts and the other activities but its best to be safe rather than sorry.
The Executive will meet on Wednesday March 18 and will fully discuss the next steps and it is likely the SAGM on April 5 will be cancelled. I will notify you of the Exec’s decisions, likely later in the week. We will discuss the open House scheduled for April 19 and the opening day work party scheduled for April 8th. As you can all appreciate that these steps are necessary and that things are changing daily.
We all need to ensure that we follow the directives from our Ministry of Health and follow appropriate social distance with others, not to shake hands, wash hands frequently and avoid touching your face. By following these simple steps we can climate the associated problems with COVID 19 and bring this virus to an end.
