Hi Everybody,

The Executive met by teleconference yesterday to discuss the club activities in light of all the recent changes that the Provincial Health Officer has put into play. We will review the status of the club activities every couple of weeks and hopefully we will be able to bowl on our greens this summer. Right now I expect the greens to be closed until the end of June, but we will continue to monitor the situation and will open the greens at the earliest safe opportunity.

What follows is an update and clarification of some of our previous point:

• The clubhouses remain closed. This includes any organized functions or gatherings. If someone requires access, please contact one of the Executive committee for approval. Members are not to use the short mats.

• Individuals may assist in chores (grass cutting, gardening, etc) outside provided they clean any tools, doors knob, etc that they touch in the performance of those duties. They also must bring their own tool cleaning supplies. There must be limit of 2 people at one time and they must observe the social distancing protocols.

• We will be discussing with John Correia regarding the greens maintenance and I will report back once we have more information. This will critical in determining our club finances and the ways ahead. We are trying to minimize costs but not the expense of the greens!

• We are encouraging all members to renew their memberships, as this will provide us the funds to continue having the Oak Bay Lawn Bowling Club a viable entity. Please use the link on the bottom the home page to renew. The links I sent you will not work. More on the club finance in a separate email.

There are extraordinary times that we are in and ask everybody to support the club where they can and be safe. Keep checking the website for updates.
