First, thank you for the croquet donations we have received so far based on the generous pledges you made earlier. We need to have all the pledged amounts before we can process our starting equipment order. If you have not had the time to send your donation, we are now accepting e-transfers as well as cheques.
Surprisingly we received numerous enquiries from members who wondered why they hadn’t been contacted to pledge money for the start-up of croquet. In fact, the croquet committee actually made one or two calls to most Club members but if you were not at home, they didn’t feel comfortable leaving a recorded message asking for a donation. In order not to disappoint many of you who would have liked to pledge their contribution to the start-up of croquet, you are encouraged to send an e-transfer to obfunds@shaw.ca or mail a cheque to OBLBC, 2190 Harlow Drive, Victoria, B.C. V8R 3J1 or simply drop it off inside the Club mailbox at the entrance of Anderson House.
A good telemarketer would always add “… But Wait, There’s More”. It’s coming now. Oakley Woods Croquet (croquet equipment supplier) heard about OBLBC’s strong introductory member support of croquet and they are donating a premium club mallet valued at approx. $250 to our Club. We would like one person in the Club who donated funds for the croquet start-up to be the new owner of this lucky mallet. While the average donation by our club members was $100, donations varied from $50 to $500. Therefore, for every $50 you have donated, your name will be entered a corresponding number of times into the draw to win the mallet. Don’t miss this opportunity to show off your very own mallet to the others! An announcement of the winner will be made sometime in April 2021. Thank you.
