Crown Bowling at Oak Bay Bowling Club
A wonderful afternoon of chaos and confusion as 44 Oak Bay Bowling Club members took to the greens to try their hand at Crown Bowling on the club’s greens.
Crown bowling is only played in the North West of England on greens which are not flat, as they have a slight elevation in the center of the green. Bowling also commences from the corners with rinks intersecting in the middle. This does cause some confusion and our case some hilarity. Watching the YOUTUBE videos it appears that they only have four teams of pairs playing at one time. Oak Bay goes one better when we had 6 teams playing simultaneously on each green.
Much fun was had by everyone!
Many thanks to Donna for organising the event
