Friday evening throughout the summer we invite the public to “kick our tires”. It’s an opportunity to try their hand rolling a few bowls. Guests arrive at 6:00 pm and following some basic instruction are placed in a game starting around 6:30 pm. On the evening of August 3rd we had the pleasure to welcome a number of guests including Mayor Nils Jensen and his wife Jean. Other guests included a couple of fellows still too young to shave, debunking the myth that lawn bowls is a sport only for seniors.

The weather was ideal, the green in great shape, and the camaraderie typical of this sport made for a most pleasant evening. Following the games many retired to the clubhouse for refreshments and snacks. Bowls is a most enjoyable sport and our Friday visitors nights provide a way to convey this message. Welcome one, welcome all.
