Three teams from the Oak Bay Lawn Bowling Club, two teams from the Lakehill Bowling Club, and one team from the Central Saanich Lawn Bowling Club  wrapped up the Short Mat season by participating in a round-robin Inter-club Short Mat Tournament on Saturday April 1st and Sunday April 2nd.

All three Oak Bay teams were tournament winners.

The Oak Bay team skipped by Harnam Grewal was undefeated, and finished in first place.  Team members were David Anderson as third, and Marcia Thorneycroft and Pat Thomas sharing the lead position.

Second place went to Chris Slades’s team, with Andrew Harley, Tanis Ranger, Linda Cowie and Brent Merchant all sharing positions over the two days.

Brent  Jansen’s team, with John Cossom as third and Karen Evans as lead took third place.

Mats will be rolled up this week, and preparations will begin for the Club’s Open House on April 23rd, and Opening Day of the outdoor season on May 6th.
