That’s the formula for Novice plus Coach equals Bowler. This formula was applied 26 April with our first group of novice bowlers. Under the supervision of Player Development Chair Louise Mason, coach Donna Blackstock gave an enthusiastic Oak Bay welcome. The novices then moved to the green to practice their new skills under the watchful eye of some of our most experienced coaches.
The day was sunny but very windy. The wind undoubtedly caused the occasional bowl to go off course, nevertheless many found the jack. It’s apparent that the greens, or at least the east green which was used today, while not yet ready for regular use, are coming along very nicely, and play at a remarkably impressive speed for this time of year.
Stay tuned for more news of other novices on other days as the coaching season gets fully underway.
