Many of you might remember the District of Oak Bay provided us with a $5,000 grant earlier this year to make some “green” changes to Carnarvon House. One of my responsibilities was to use a portion of that grant to replace the lights in Carnarvon with LED lights. That project is now complete at a cost of approximately $1,450. Under the careful supervision of Karen Evans husband Ray (an electrician) and with the capable assistance of Ian McMorran, David Anderson and myself we replaced all of the 4ft florescent lights with new LED lights. All of the large dart spotlights, the ceiling lights in the kitchen and the front part of Carnarvon were also replaced with LED lights. With this change our electrical bill should drop significantly in Carnarvon House once we return to more normal operations. A big thank you to Ray, Ian and David for their help with this project.
