Well a changing of the guard at the Lakehill Short Mat Tournament played last weekend Feb 22-24th.

Last year Svend and June Klausen with Bud Randall won the A Flight at the 2018 Lakehill Short Mat Tournament

Well, there is a new champion!  Andrew Harley with his team from Oak Bay put together a string of wins to take the A Flight championship.

After a marathon tussle, Andrew Harley and his team of David Anderson and Pat Thomas, managed to beat Brent Merchant and team not once, but twice with the same score of 7-6 both times. Games coming down to the last bowl being delivered by Brent without sucessfully dislodging the shot bowl!

A great weekend of bowling by 16 local teams with trophies for the A , B and C flights.

Oak Bay Bowling Club was well represented three teams from Oak Bay and teams from both Gordon Head and CP containing Oak Bay players.

Brent Jansen was not at his best this weekend, he had a cold which he was doing his best to inflict on us….grrr.

I fully expect that Brent (both Brents), Svend and June will want to exact their revenge next year, so we will have to be on our toes!
