Perfect conditions saw a large turnout to kick off the 2018 bowling season. We were honoured to have as special guests Dr. Andrew Weaver, MLA for Oak Bay-Gordon Head, and Nils Jensen, Mayor of Oak Bay. Jensen was accompanied by council members Hazel Braithwaite and Michelle Kirby.

After welcoming remarks by President Al Wood and some good-natured comments from Jensen and Weaver, who each described a slightly different recollection of their past rivalry, play got underway. With many club coaches looking on our guests were seen to be excellent bowlers. However, no one thought to turn in an official scorecard, so any results claimed by either Jensen or Weaver will remain hearsay.

A fun day was enjoyed by all, with many members once again coming together to play the game we love so much.
