Once again the sun shone brilliantly on the Oak Bay Lawn Bowling Club for Opening Day on Saturday, May 2. Club President Al Wood welcomed MLA Andrew Weaver and Acting Mayor Tara Ney to the festivities. More than 100 members turned out to play the first game of the season, with the greens filled to capacity. Our faithful kitchen volunteers, under the direction of Anne Payne, provided refreshments during the afternoon. Everyone had a great afternoon and looks forward to bowling outdoors!
…through the eyes of our Publicity volunteer, Marcia Thorneycroft.
PS The greens are playing well thanks to our new roller, and the volunteers who have been out driving the new machine. Come out and enjoy (the bowling that is).
