The 2017 BSI season got under way with Oak Bay teams showing fine form. Four teams from the friendly club entered this year’s Adshead Trophy Over 80 Mixed Triples tournament. A total of 12 teams participated.

Victory was sweet for the team skipped by Jim Brown who represented Oak Bay but has “dual citizenship” with membership also in Nanaimo LBC. Jim, who has his name now on the trophy for a third time, led his team of Jennifer Letkeman and Ronnie Stinson to hoist the trophy. Finishing close behind in second place by a small point differential was the team of Al Neumair, Betty Walker and Louise Mason. Fourth place, which like the first and second placed teams won all three of their games, went to the team of Hal Yardley, Betty Emery and Gerry Emery.

A first and second place finish this early in the season bodes well for Oak Bay. Thanks guys for showing us the way and congratulations.
