At the invitation of the short mat bowlers of the Nanaimo Bowling Club, nine bowlers from Oak Bay LBC traveled to Nanaimo to play some social short mat bowling. It should have been ten, but the author (me) came down with a nasty cold and, rather than spread it around decided to forgo the trip.

By all accounts the visit was a rip-roaring success the day being enjoyed by all. Now I have no idea what the scores were but I understand that three 8 end games were played with a great lunch served in between games.

Certainly, the facility looks wonderful and the food was reported as good enough “to die for”. Well all the players made it back over the Malahat, so all’s well that ends well. We have some good photos including our Jim Brown (and I say “our” because for a lot of us Jim Brown still belongs to OBLBC). Great photo Jim, keep up the bowling!
