The second short mat tournament of the season took place on Dec. 6th and 7th.  The format this time was Australian pairs, which turned out to be a lot of fun.   Fifteen teams were divided into three pools, with each team completing 4 games of 8 ends, with a 60 minute limit for each game.  
Winners were as follows:Pool A – Mary Magill & Helen KempsterPool B – Pat Thomas and Robert GamePool C – and overall winners were Linda Cowie & Beth Christopher. No team won all 4 games in this tournament.
Door prize winners were Louise Mason and Marilyn Turpin.
Thanks once again to all the many people who helped make the tournament a great success.  Garry Anderson, Andrew Harley, Karen Evans, Brent Jansen, and Beth Christopher for organization; Anne Payne and her crew of kitchen helpers; and  Kay Alexander for her delicious scones.
For anyone who has not yet participated in a short mat tournament, keep an eye on the calendar for tournaments  in the New Year.  On January 17th there will be an Interclub tournament, with 4 teams from Oak Bay.  The tournament is now  open for enteries, which can be done on the club website.
