On a grey Tuesday morning, it was delightful to have a group of 15 students from St Michaels University School bring sunshine and warmth to our club! This group was the first school to visit us before our outdoor bowling season officially begins.
The enthusiasm and cheers amongst these hardy students really brightened up the day. The chilly morning didn’t even bother them at all. These new and young bowlers were very talented!
With every school visit, it is not finished until every student has a go at the Spider. With one leg in the ditch, each student rolls a bowl towards the middle of the green. It’s always fun to watch all the students converging towards the middle of the green to check out whose bowl is closest to the Jack in order to win a prize.
We look forward to welcoming St Michaels University School back to our club later in the season. Schools are encouraged to bring their students to try out this sport.
Thank you to our coaches and assistants who braved the chilly morning to show these students the fun in lawn bowling.
